Once the child crosses the age of 5, it is the responsibility of the parents to update the biometric details of the child. Coming to the biometric update, the first update needs to be done at the age of 5. After that, when the child turns 15, the parents should go and get the biometric of the child updated. So, by the term demographic update, we mean the update of your name, your address, phone number, mail ID, your gender, birthday, etc. Now, one will wonder as to why any of these things would change in any person’s life. There are a lot of circumstances that lead to changes in these things.
This could be understood by simple examples. If you are changing house and are shifting to somewhere else, your address will be changed and this will lead to the change in Aadhaar card. Along with that, if a person wants to change his or her surname after the marriage, this too will lead to a demographic update in the Aadhaar card.
